THE QUADRA:

Based upon the four quadrants of a Cartesian Coordinate System, the house is formed by four rectangles and is the fourth property standing at probably the highest point of the City of York at 45 metres above sea level. Standing on a private road, the site is rectangular with an x-y axis like compass bearing (x=E - y=N).

(The Cartesian Coordinate System was the work of French mathematician and philosopher René Descartes).
