JUNE

1) Work commences on building a new garage for our neighbours, Pat & Derek who sold us the land. Their old garage stands on the footprint of the new house and so before we can demolish it and commence building, we must build a nice new garage for them.

The Planners approve our plans, the designated area is cleared and shuttering for the raft foundation is set out.

JUNE

A piece of Roman pottery was discovered at a depth of less than 1m which indicated incorrect position for this type of artefact therefore probably re-positioned after building of nearby garage disturbed it. At 1.8m depth, evidence of lime mortar and charcoal brought up in Auger leading to further suggestion of Roman activity at the site.
