During the persistently inclement weather (what happened to global warming?), the Steel Beams, manufactured by York Engineering Company, Minster Engineers arrive on Site and are carefully placed in position by Ian, with expert guidance from his 'partner-in-crime' Dennis who has re-joined us on site to stop Ian talking to himself all day!
These guys have the knack of making the most demanding job look easy!

With the Steels in place, work commences on fixing the Posi-Joists (Metal Web Engineered Joists) supplied by Kingspan Offsite Ltd. All but one Joist fits perfectly and Kingspan quickly replace the one which was manufactured to the wrong size.
70mm insulation is placed between the joists before covering with 9mm plywood onto which the underfloor heating pipework will be laid prior to covering with an 80% sand screed which acts to distribute the heat evenly through the floor.
The weather is kind to us (for a change) and even Derek visits the Site to lend a hand while the Managing Director relaxes in the executive dining area!
Karen & Pavla (our Architects) visit the Site to discuss the finer points of roof construction with Ian (our builder) and Jennifer (the Boss!).
