Despite the continuing poor weather, Ian and his intrepid team set out the steels which will support the roof and with all this steel, I'm sure we will be Hurricane-proof to say the least!

Once the steels are in place the timber roof structure is set out and soon the roof will be water tight.

Sporting his newly acquired (freebie) workwear, Ian enjoys a rain-free day on the roof!

We are situated at possibly the highest point in York (45metres above sea level) and looking North West, we can see the glorious Minster through the roof tops and the Wolds to the North East.

The roof pitch on East and West elevations is 55º which is a beautiful architectural feature and will form our Galleried Bedrooms 1 and 2.

'Bob the Builder' AKA 'Head of Logistics' AKA Jennifer, arrives on Site and quickly adapts to defying gravity while applying preservative to the facia timbers. I have suspected the woman is quite insane for some time - I rest my case!

Meanwhile - Ian applies his proven expertise to felting and latting the Western roof, ably assisted by his young apprentice, Lee who helps out on Site in between attending Building College. They obviously don't have my imagination as they appear quite at ease up there!
