It's November and Ian completes the roof tiling while we visit the Blacksmith's workshop to see the steel staircase prior to powder coating. I install an integrated Vacuum Cleaning System which is fully tested before ground floor screed is poured. 75mm Celotex FF3075 flooring grade insulation is installed along with Celotex TB3040 insulation to inside of exterior walls to prevent cold bridging and then under-floor heating pipework and manifolds are installed by engineers from ECOVISION SYSTEMS which will all be connected to the Ground Source Heat Pump with heat taken from the ground via 500 metres of pipework which was laid throughout the garden in the Spring. Meanwhile, solid Oak planks sourced from the Castle Howard Estate through a Timber Yard at Ampleforth, North Yorkshire are varnished by 'head of logistics' and then fitted in place by Ian and me after he completes the rendering of the walls with WBS silicone render with its flexible anti-crack formulation and ultra-violet resistant pigments which allow for large areas to be seamlessly rendered with perfect colour consistency. |
